I got out of the shower the other day, dripping wet with soap stinging my eyes. Not soap really, shampoo. That always happens to me, I can't seem to learn how to wash my hair without getting shampoo in my eyes...

...Anyway, I got out of the shower (wincing and dabbing my eyes with my towel). Then I heard something come from behind the bathroom door. It sounded like somebody else was inside my apartment. My heart beat faster, and I wrung the towel in my hands nervously. I slipped on my silk robe and opened the bathroom door. A tall man with tan skin and dark hair jumped at the sight of me. I screamed. He put his hand to his coat pocket...

...He came closer and closer to me. From his pocket he pulled a thin rectangular box. My eyes widened. I whispered, "What's that?" "A present." He replied. He opened the box. Inside was a beautiful diamond necklace. "Darling, you shouldn't have! What it must have cost you I can't begin to imagine!" He just smiled and said, "Let's see how it looks on you." My hands trembled...

...He took the necklace from its distinguished box and came around in back of me. "Hold up your hair," he chuckled softly. I grasped my long auburn locks in my hand and I felt him placing the cold string of diamonds on my chest. Suddenly, they were cutting into my throat. He was pulling tightly on the necklace, choking the very life out of me. I put a hand to my throat, trying to let his grip loose. I felt blood trickling down my neck. I screamed and I kicked and I tryed to elbow him in the stomach but he jumped on me and we fell to the ground. He straddled me and with both hands he pulled on the necklace. I was sobbing, tears running down my face to my chin and my neck, intermingling with blood. He released the necklace. For a moment I thought it was all over. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw him use both of his hands to pick up an iron-base lamp; it was the lamp we had bought together last Saturday. He held it high over his head and brought it to a sickening crack over my head...

Nice ending. I thought for a second there it actually was just a sappy story.
